The cruelty seemed unthinkable.

Cuddles on the floor, the house echoing with giggles and barks. The bond between Dennis and his sister grew stronger by the day—a pure, unshakable friendship built on trust and love.
Of course, the shadows of his past still lingered. Loud or strange noises sometimes sent him cowering, his mind flashing back to darker times. But slowly, he was learning: this world is different. Here, he is safe. Here, he is loved.
